Through Harvesting Harmony, we transform food production into a catalyst for climate action, biodiversity conservation, education, health, and social connection.

At the heart of Harvesting Harmony is a solar-powered organic farm where generations come together to grow fresh, nutritious food. Through an intergenerational farming model, residents of local retirement homes work alongside children and youth to cultivate a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and pollinator-friendly plants. By sharing knowledge, skills, and lived experiences, participants foster meaningful relationships while reconnecting with nature and the origins of their food.

The initiative follows regenerative and organic farming practices that protect soil health, enhance biodiversity, eliminate the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, conserve water, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through renewable energy and local food production. Native pollinator habitats and ecological stewardship are integrated throughout the farm, helping to strengthen local ecosystems while producing healthy, nutrient-rich food.​

All produce harvested through Harvesting Harmony is donated to local food banks, increasing access to fresh, wholesome food for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. By shortening the distance between farm and table, the initiative reduces food waste, supports resilient local food systems, and demonstrates how communities can play an active role in improving food security.

 

Harvesting Harmony is equally an educational initiative. Participants gain hands-on experience in regenerative agriculture, climate-smart food production, nutrition, composting, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable living. The farm serves as a living classroom where environmental stewardship, healthy eating, and community service are woven together, empowering people of all ages to become leaders in building more sustainable food systems.
