We Want Books, Not Nukes
We Want Books, Not Nukes is Green Hope Foundation's flagship peace and disarmament education initiative, inspiring children and young people to become champions of peace, compassion, and global citizenship, and thus localizing SDG 16. We believe that sustainable peace begins with education, and that every child has the right to understand the world they will inherit.
For too long, nuclear weapons have been shrouded in secrecy and treated as subjects too complex or sensitive for children and young people. We Want Books, Not Nukes removes that veil of secrecy through creative, age-appropriate learning experiences that encourage curiosity, dialogue, and hope rather than fear.
Using music, art, dance, drama, sports, storytelling, and interactive workshops, we help children explore the humanitarian and environmental consequences of nuclear weapons while fostering empathy, critical thinking, cooperation, and respect for all life. By making peace education engaging and accessible, we empower young people to become confident advocates for non-violence, diplomacy, and a more just and sustainable future.
We Want Books, Not Nukes carries this simple yet powerful message: our future will never be secured by weapons of mass destruction, but instead, will be created by educated, compassionate, and empowered young people.

PEACE = WATER SECURITY
AquaSol for Equity: Solar Innovation to Solve Lack of Education Access and Water Insecurity
OUTCOMES:
1. 3,750 people positively impacted

We are leveraging clean energy innovation and youth empowerment to deliver a sustainable, long term solution that resolves water insecurity and improves education access for indigenous communities in Kiribati and Cambodia. Our system integrates solar energy with water distillation technology, ideal for off-grid villages where traditional purification methods are impractical. The modular design includes solar panels powering a distillation unit that can purify river water, rainwater, and contaminated groundwater. The distillation process heats water to create vapour, which is condensed into purified liquid, removing contaminants, salts, and microorganisms. Each unit produces 100-125 litres of clean water daily, enough for 900 people. For example, our solar system ensures clean drinking water supply to the local school children all year round. Additional off-grid solar panels power lights and fans in the school, creating well-ventilated classrooms providing comfortable learning conditions for school children.
The local youth have been trained and mentored by Green Hope Foundation as WASH ambassadors. Through them, we conduct regular workshops on water conservation, sanitation and hygiene, to change community behaviours.
This region in Cambodia is impacted by climate change induced drought, resulting in severe water insecurity, while the islands of Kiribati suffer from an increase in brackish water seeping into groundwater sources due to climate change, as well as drought, which leads to extreme water insecurity. Lack of clean water affects the health and well-being of the community, disproportionately impacting its women and children. Lack of hygiene and sanitation aggravates the situation. It is also very hot throughout the year and, in Cambodia, the village’s only school does not have a supply of clean water. As a result, children do not come to school especially in the summer months and many of them fall ill after drinking polluted water. Our solar innovation addresses this intersectional problem of water insecurity, lack of access to proper public health practices, and lack of access to education.

Solar Streetlights
Safe spaces are a basic human right. Hence, we have installed solar streetlights in rural communities globally to provide women & girls the safety & freedom to come out of their homes in the evenings.
PEACE = FOOD SECURITY
Agrivoltaics
Our solution, agrovoltaics, provides food security, creates green jobs and improves the socio-economic conditions of marginalized rural communities in LDCs that have been disproportionately impacted by land degradation, incorporating the dual use of land for both agriculture and for energy that relieves pressure on ecosystems and biodiversity. It provides an effective, efficient and innovative solution to the competition for land use through the creation of synergies between renewable energies and agriculture, while promoting sustainable rural development.
PEACE = WOMEN'S GOOD HEALTH
Distributing Solar Cookers
As part of Green Hope Foundation Women's Health Initiative, we have distributed solar cookers to the women & girls of a rural community in Western India. Previously, these women & girls used to burn firewood to cook, which negatively impacted their health, causing severe respiratory illnesses. Now, these solar cookers are improving their health tremendously. The solar cookers have the additional benefit of being climate-smart, which is reducing pollution levels in their village & aid in the creation of a net-zero circular economy.
